When Love Strikes – Candy, Grade 10

When Love Strikes – Candy, Grade 10

When Love Strikes

Love hits like a tornado,

Giving no time to think,

And nowhere to escape.

It overwhelms.

Love tastes like cappuccino,

Seriously seducing

But brutally bitter.

It’s hard to brush away.

Love feels like sand in hand.

The tighter it is gripped,

The faster it drains,

Leaving no trace at all.

Love looks like an onion.

Peel it off layer by layer,

And discover with tears

That there is no heart.

Love is like a robust rock,

Looking solid and sturdy

But doomed to erode,

Ultimately cracking and bursting apart

Should it be then treasured,

Or should it be browsed?
