The Unwavering Snail

On a hot sunny day, animals in the forest were talking about an important event. They were talking about the lion king’s thirteenth birthday. All the animals were excited to go to the birthday ceremony. The ceremony interested a young snail as well, and he decided to go to the ceremony, too. The only problem was that the lion had decided to hold his ceremony at a location too far from where the snail lived. But still, the snail had made up his mind and started his long journey to the ceremony.

The snail was the most strong-willed one in the whole snail generation. Snails lived in a small distant place, where there were no other creatures. The road was harsh for a snail to go, but he thought in his mind, “I’ve already made the decision, so I shall keep on going.” After a few days, he finally met the first animal, the elephant. The elephant guffawed at the snail for his plan and said that he would never make it to the event. The elephant tried to convince him to go back. Even the elephant had to walk for a few days to get there. The snail refused immediately and said, “I’ve already made the decision, so I shall keep on going.”

He then met the monkeys. They giggled awfully at him and believed he would never succeed. The monkeys suggested that he rest. Even the monkeys needed to climb thousands of trees to get to the ceremony on time. He refused again and said, “I’ve already made the decision, so I shall keep on going.” Laughs, threats, and natural disasters didn’t affect his faith. He kept on going step by step, slowly approaching the destination.

One day, the snail came across a large number of animals, who had gathered around a cave. He felt delighted as he appeared to have finally made it to the celebration. He approached one of the animals and asked, “Is this the lion king’s thirteenth birthday party?” Lion’s assistant, mongoose said, “No, it’s lion king’s fourteenth birthday party.” The snail hadn’t been able to make it to the lion king’s thirteenth birthday party, but he still enjoyed his fourteenth birthday party.
